Yin Kahna is a 12-year-old 6th grade student at the Eugene Katz School . She is ranked number 1 out of her 31 classmates in the last semester of 2006. She has three siblings: two sisters and one brother. Her house is located about 500 meters from the school and it takes 5 minutes on foot to get to the school.

“My mother is a farmer in the village and my father is a construction worker in Phnom Penh ; he always come home every three months,” Kahna said.

“My favorite subject is math because I am good at calculating, and I pay more attention in this subject than other subjects, and I like doing homework,” said Kanha.

“When I grow up, I want to be a singer because I want to sing a song and be aired on TV when there are concerts and any special events in my village,” she said.
