Sorn Sreymon is a 13-year-old 5th grade student at the Lee Rudlin School. She ranked number 4 out of her 38 classmates in the last semester. She has five siblings; four sisters and one brother; she is the eldest child in the family. Her house is located 2 kilometers from the school and she rides a bicycle 10 minutes to the school.

Her father is the motor-cycle repairman and her mom sells spare parts for motor-bikes in a market on the border with Vietnam.

“My favorite subject is math because I am good at calculating and for me it is easy when the teacher gives home work,” she said.

“I want to be a doctor when I grow up so that I can cure my parents and people in my village when they are sick. I would run a small clinic in my village too,” she said.

“I am interested so much in learning English and computer skills run by the Rural School Project. Now I can speak a little English and I can write messages to my friends and surf the Internet too,” she said.
