The Marais Family School
Mr. Chey Saroeun is the 26-year-old principal of The Marais Family School. He is married and has one daughter. He comes from Kampot province where he used to teach children for one year, before moving to Takeo province, next to Kampot province. He stays in the school campus, in a house built by the school committee and villagers.
“I graduated from a high school in Kampot province in 2000 and then I attended the teachers (Pedagogy) school in Kampot town for two years, from 2000 to 2002. After that I was assigned to teach at a secondary school in Kampot provice for one year. After almost two years of teaching in Takeo, I was sent to this new school and was promoted to principal of The Marais Family School in November 2004,” he said.
