The Marjorie and Elwood Malos School
Mrs. Him Simonda is the 25-year-old principal of the Majorie and Elwood Malos School. She is married and has a six-month old daughter. Her husband teaches 1st grade at this school. Together they ride their motorbike to school each day.
Speaking about her educational background, Mrs. Simonda said: “From 1999 to 2001, I studied at Chea Sim High School. I attended the Regional Teacher (Pedagogy) school in Preah Vihear for two years, from 2001 to 2003”.
“Then I was assigned to teach at a primary school located in the same district as my current school. I have been teaching here now for three years and I just got promoted to principal of the Majorie and Elwood Malos School in 2007. These new tasks keep me very busy, because I
have to work as the school principal and also teach grade 3”, she added.
