But Vuthy is a 15 years old, fourth grade student at the Mithapheap Nippon Foundation School.
Out of the 41 students in his class, he was ranked eighth

On himself:

I have six siblings. Half of them are at school with me. My father is a carpenter and my mother, a farmer. My house is right besides the school. [But Vuthy is Mrs. Sok Rin’s grandchild (Villager)]

On the new building:

I believe I am lucky to be able to study in the new school. I moved from Kampong Speu to here with my parents three years ago. We didn’t have our own land in Kampong Speu and decided to move here to find one. The school I used to visit in Kampong Speu was also made of concrete, but was not as nice as the one I visit now.

Favorite subject:

Khmer is my favorite. I like reading biographies and history.

On his spare time:

I prepare the soil for planting vegetables.

In the future:

I want to be a teacher.

If he could do anything:

Then I’d be a policeman! I want to stop robberies.

If he could travel anywhere:

India. I’ve heard it’s an interesting place.
