On himself: | I’m twenty-five years old. I just got married this year. I work two jobs; I farm and I sell things out of my house. I sell cakes, alcohol, and candy. I’ve never been to school. This area had many problems before. There was a lot of Khmer Rouge activity in this area, and the village had no school for the students to study in. When the Khmer Rogue came to the village, I would always hide to avoid them. They only came to rob the villagers and steal supplies, such as record players, money, food, etc. Whenever they saw a villager, they would check him for valuables. It didn’t really stop until 1993.

On the new building: | I am delighted with the new school building. We’ve never had a school like this before. Now this village has a new school for the students to study at. It is very difficult to study in the old building, because when it rains, classes are stopped. |
