Berry School
Sao Channy is a 10-year-old, fifth grade student at the Sophy Joy Berry and Mark Sopha Berry School . She was ranked first among 31 of her classmates in the final exam in the last semester of 2005. She has two siblings and she is the second child in her family. Her father is a farmer and her mother is a seller at the local market near her home.
“I want to be a teacher when I grow up because I like to teach the young generation in my home village” she said.
“My favorite subject is Khmer language because I have good scores when doing dictation, grammar examination,” she said.
“If I have enough money and a chance, I would like to visit Svay Rieng where I can see the Khmer traditional dancing, theater and the town,” she added.
