of Rice)  School No. Two

(October, 2001)

Mol Men is a 15-year-old third grade student at the Kome Hyappyo School Number Two.  He was ranked 15th among the 70 students in his class at the end of second grade.  His younger brother is also in third grade.

In Their Own Words. . .

On the new building: “I the new building because of the new equipment in it and because we now have a field for playing football and volleyball.”

On his free time:  “I help my parents with the housework.  I carry water to fill our jars, sweep the house and cut the grass around the house.  Aside from that, I like to study and play games with my friends.”

On his future:  “I will graduate from primary school, but I do not think that I will go to high school because my parents are poor.  My older brother also stopped after fifth grade.  Now he helps my parents fish in the sea.”

When I grow up…: “I want to be a policeman because the policemen protect the people.”
