The Cambodia Rural School Project

The Rachel Trout and

Emma Tate School

Kang Un teaches first grade at the Rachel Trout
and Emma Tate School.

In Their Own Words. . .

On the new building:  “I am very happy when I teach in the new building.”

On teaching: “I became a teacher in 1980 because at that time the school was lacking teachers.  I would like the Khmer population to gain knowledge so I decided to teach.

On his family: “I have three sons and three daughters.  They are all too old to go to school here.  My wife is a farmer.”

On the future of his students: “I hope that in the future all kids in this school will become smart and develop the country.  I think that education makes it easier for them to find a good job in the future.”

Message to the donor: “This is a good opportunity for the kids living in rural areas and I would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Rinaldo that kindly provided not only the school building, but also the computer and teacher.”
