The O Koki Kandal School

Tem Chanthy is a villager of O Koki Kandal. She lives 150 meters from the school.

On herself: I am twenty years old. I have two young daughters. My husband used to be a hunter but we saved money to buy land and started farming this year. I work hard and so does my husband, but the income is never enough to feed the whole family. This area is very remote and the income level is low, so many people do extra jobs, such as collecting and preparing wood and building houses for others, in order to earn some extra money.

On the new building: I am happy that my village now has a new school. Before it was built 2 years ago, there had been no school in this area and children had to walk two kilometers to get to the nearest school.
