Wolf School

(September, 2001)

Sen Yon is a 13-year-old fourth grade student at the Friends of Judith Wolf School.  She was ranked third in her class of 32 students.  Her parents are farmers in the village.

In Their Own Words. . .

On the new building: “The new school building is nice because it is made of concrete and has enough tables.  Also it has very good blackboards and dustbins.”

On school subjects: “My favorite subject is Khmer because it’s easier to learn than other subjects.  I don’t like mathematics because it’s difficult to learn.”

On her hobbies: “When I come to school to meet my friends we like to clean the classroom because we want it nice when class begins.”

On her family:  “I want to graduate high school because I want to be able to make money.  My parents want me to graduate because they want me to know a lot.  My father finished fourth grade because he told me his parents wanted him to get married.  My mother only finished third grade because her parents wanted her to get married, too.”

On her future: “I want to be a teacher in the future because I want to teach in this new school building.”

Message for the donor: “I would like to thank the friends of Judith Wolf who donated this new school building for us.  I wish them good luck.”
