The Rokar Thom Nippon

Foundation School

(October, 2001)

Mr. Pong Toch is the deputy director of the Rokar Thom Nippon Foundation School.  He has been a deputy director for ten years and a teacher since 1979.

In Their Own Words. . .

On the new building:  “I like the new building.  Before, our school had holes in the roof and was noisy.  Now we have everything we need.  The building is good for the village because it allows more people to study.”

On school subjects:  “I like teaching Khmer because it is very important for my students to know.  They like studying Khmer, so I enjoy teaching it.  I don’t like applied science because it is difficult for the children to read the lessons.  The students have trouble understanding the concepts as well.”
