Tek Nak is a 13-year-old third grade student at the school.  He was ranked seventh in his class of 28 at the end of last year.  He has nine siblings, three of whom are at the school with him.  His father has passed away and his mother is a farmer.

In Their Own Words. . .

On school subjects: “I like learning all subjects, but mathematics is my favorite because I can learn how to calculate.”

On his free time: “With my free time, I take care of our water buffalo and work in the rice fields.  I also like to sit around and chat with my friends.”

On his future: “I want to finish high school because it is important for me to go to school, my mother says.  She didn’t ever go to school.”

If I could go anywhere…:  “I would go to Kratie town because I have relatives living there.”

If I could do anything…:  “I would help poor people because it is important to be compassionate and I am compassionate.”
