The Cambodia Rural School Project
The Phoum Kor Nippon
Foundation School
Mr. Rom Mon is a farmer who lives right by the Phoum Kor Nippon Foundation School.
On himself:
|
I am 37 years old and I have four children. My ten-year-old daughter is studying in the first grade here. My wife is a farmer, the same as me. I have lived here since 1979. I moved here with my whole family when the Vietnamese occupied our country. This is a good place to farm; it’s much better than where I used to live.

On the new building:

I am very pleased to have this school because my daughter can study there. When we had the old school, only a few parents sent their children to study in fear of flood. There were no roads to the school. Now there’s no risk of the school flooding, because this time the villagers raised the ground before the new school was constructed. |
