The Dang Run Nippon

Foundation School

Mr. Kong Sothon is a fourth grade teacher at the Dang Run Nippon Foundation School.

On himself: I am 48 years old. I have five sons and one daughter. Two of them are studying here, in first and fifth grade. We live only 200 meters from the school. When I don’t teach, I work on the farm with my wife.

On the new building: When it rained at the old building, it would disturb the class, and I had to stop teaching. I was also worried that the building might collapse. I am very happy with the new concrete building, because it is big and strong, and the rain no longer disturbs us. I vow to try my best to teach the kids in this village.

On school subjects: Some kids like to study math and some like to study literature because they want to be clever and communicate better.”
