The Khi Lek Nippon

Foundation School

Sok Kimset is a fifth grade student at the Khi Lek Nippon Foundation School.
Out of the fifty-five students in his class he was ranked first.

On himself:

I am fourteen years old. I am the youngest of the five siblings in my family. Two of them are at school with me, in the fifth and sixth grade. My parents are farmers. My mother also sells vegetables from our garden. Our house is just down the road from the school.

On the new building:

Before I start studying here, I used to go to the old school. It was made of wood and covered with tin. Studying at the old school was ok, but I transferred because this school is closer to my house. I’m very glad to study here because this school is new and made of concrete. The classrooms are also much cooler. At the old school it would get very hot, because the roof was made of tin. I have many friends here. I want to take care of the school well and help clean it every day.

Favorite subject:

Math, because I learn about numbers. Math is important when I have to sell things.

On his spare time:

I help my parents with their work at home, and I do my homework. I help them chop wood and feed the animals. During recess I play soccer with my friends at school.

In the future:

I would like to finish secondary and high school. Afterwards, I would like to be a teacher. Teachers can provide knowledge for students. If I could have any job, I would want to be a policeman. Policemen can help organize society.

If he could travel anywhere:

I would like to travel to a foreig
