The O Sngourt Nippon Foundation School

On himself: I am married and have three sons and one daughter. My wife sells cakes at the O Sngout market. My eldest son is a teacher at the O Prasat high school. He is 28 years old. My daughter is a teacher at O Sngourt Nippon Foundation School. She is 24 years old. My second eldest son is a teacher at Sratrach primary school (Poi Pet), and my youngest son is a student at O Prasat high school. My house is about 200 meters from school, and I always walk to school.

On the new building: I am very happy with the new building. It is safe for the students, and they are learning more. The building itself is also much stronger, and the rain can no longer interfere with classes. The new school also has a computer and a teacher for teaching it. I think that our kids will be brighter and learn better because of the new building.

On teaching: I would like to teach my students about society and how to live a good life. Later on, they will be able to lead better lives.

On school subjects: We teach four subjects in primary school. I think that most of the students like to study in Khmer and math, because Khmer help them to better communicate with their families and other people, while math is an important for business.”

On keeping the students interested in school: I give congratulation letters to the top five students of every class when they finished the semester. Sometimes, I also give them small gifts in the form of notebooks or pens.
