Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Soeurng Sreika is a 12 years old student in grade 5 at the Wahrenbrock Family School in Takeo province, Koh Andet district, Pech Sar commune, Chong Angkar village.

There are five members in Sreika’s family. She has no any brother but she has three sisters includes her too. She is the oldest child in the poor family. Her parents haven’t owned the farmland for growing rice. So her parents have fled to Thailand to work as the laborers in order to find income to support the family. Every month her parents have sent the revenue between $50 and $60 to support family in order to buy food and school supplies for the children. Sreika and her siblings now have been living with her poor grandparents. As for Sreika, she usually helps her grandmother doing the housework after coming back from school.
