The Siem Bok Nippon

Foundation School

Bun Akpivath is a fourth grade student at the Siem Bok Nippon Foundation School.
Out of the fifty-five students in his class, he was ranked first.

On himself: I am 10 years old, and I am the second youngest in my family. I have four siblings. Two of them are studying at the secondary school in Boeung Pring, and the other two are studying in fourth and sixth grade. My father and mother are farmers. The distance from my house to school is about 500 meter. I come here on foot. I like to study math the most because it make me clever and it teaches me how to calculate.

On the new building: I am very happy with the new building, because I can learn here safely. Any way, after we got the new building, I am happy to come to school because the concrete building is safe.

On his free time: I like to play soccer because I want to have good health and make my body very strong. After school, I help my parents with the housework.”

If I could go anywhere:

I would like to see Angkor Wat because I’ve never been there.

If I could do anything: I would like to visit my grandmother’s house.

On the future:

I want to go to university, because I want to have a good job in the future and I want to be educated.
