On himself:

I have two sons and four daughters. One of my daughters, Lang Heun, is studying in the fourth grade here. My wife’s a farmer. Our house is five kilometers away from here. I’ve been a teacher for 17 years and school director for eight of them.

On the new building:

The old school was four kilometers away. This new school is more central, covering two communes, as opposed to only one. I’m vey happy with this building. In the future I will decorate the school and take care of it. I will prepare a garden outside and in every classroom, there will be pictures to make teaching and explanations easier.
Ever since the new school was built, more students want to study here. Next year, I expect another 100 students and then we’ll need to have three shifts per day instead of the normal two if we want to teach all grades. This school is a good opportunity for the villagers around here. The old school was not of good quality. When there was a storm, the whole building would shake and we would worry about the safety of the students. The new school is stronger and larger than before and much safer. |
