Om Bun Ly, a 14-year old 5th grade student at the Moeung Char Nippon Foundation School.

Om Bun Ly is a 14-year old 5th grade student. He has two sisters who also attend the school. His parents are farmers in the village. He rides a bicycle to school every day.

“I like studying math because I always get a better score in this subject, but I am weak in Khmer literature because I can’t memorize spellings well. I make many mistakes at dictation.”

“I want to be a teacher when I grow up, and I am willing to teach at this school because I don’t want to be far away from my parents. I think that my family can support my studies only until high school, not to the university level because my parents do not have enough money to do so.”
