The Chork Toch Nippon

Foundation School

Mao Chamroen is a fourth grade student at the Chork Toch Nippon Foundation School
Out of the sixty-two students of his class, he ranked forty-one

On himself:

I am sixteen years old, and have three siblings. I am the eldest. My parents are both farmers, and our house is three minutes away from the school.

On the new building:

I am very happy with the new school. I am trying to study very hard. The old school where I used to study was really old and was almost about to collapse.

Favorite subject:

Khmer and Math. I like them because I want to understand letters and numbers.

In his spare time:

I carry water to our house, and I take care of my siblings.

In the future:

I want to be a teacher. I want to teach students the value of education. If I could do anything, I would be a farmer. I prefer farming even to teaching. I want to make enough money from farming to keep the farm. A teacher is a difficult job. A farmer can plant rice and provide for his family.

If he could travel anywhere:

I would like to visit Angkor Wat. I want to see the Angkor temples and old sculptures that have remained until today.
