The Cambodia Rural School Project
The Mithapheap Nippon
Foundation School
Mrs. Ouy Sokhom is the school director of the Mithapheap Nippon Foundation School.
On herself:
I am 53 years old. I have seven children, and one of my sons is studying in the fifth grade here. I moved to this village with my husband in 1999. He is an administrator of the Ministry of Education in this district. I began teaching in 1982, and I became a director when I moved here. I still teach the first and third grade, though.
On the new building:
I am very happy and want to thank the donor for providing us with this new school. When I taught at the old school, there weren’t enough desks for the students. They used to sit on used rice-bags on the floor.
