Yorng Sreypich is a 13-year-old student in 5th grade at The Nicholas and Zachary Poor School in Mouy village, Tropheang Chres commune, Khonmom district, Ratanakiri province.

Sreypich has three siblings, all are brothers, and she is second child in family. Her parents are farmers who own half of one hectare of farmland. The yield of rice farming is 250-300kg per year because there is limitation of water. They also grow soybean but it doesn’t give profit because the price of soybean has decreased. So in order to feed his family, he is hired to saw woods and to clear forest to do farming. He earns from clearing forest about $25 per week. Sreypich has to help her mother to do housework and to take care of her younger siblings.
