Yin Chenna, an 18 year old 2nd grade student at the Gloria and Henry Jarecki Special Skills School.

Yin Chenna is 18 year old 2nd grade student at the Gloria and Henry Jarecki Special Skills School. Prek Leu is her other name that is given by her ‘Kreung’ethnic minority. Unlike the other village children, Yin Chenna is serious of learning and now she can read and write Khmer. She is due to enroll to school at her age of 6, but there was no school in the village.

In 2004 the Gloria and Henry Jarecki Special Skills School was built, given her an opportunity to learn more and she is hired as a translator for the Computer and English teacher of the additional program of the Rural School Project.

“I am happy with my role as a translator in the classes, helping the teacher and students to understand the Kreung and Khmer languages.”

”I will get married next year, but I have committed that I will keep my present job as translator in this school after married.
