Mat Sotra is 17 years old, and is in grade 8th at The ASIJ School in Chup Krom
Village, Svay Leu commune, Svay Leu district, Siem Reap province.
She has gotten eight members in the poor family. Her parents with her two older sisters, her two older brothers and her younger brother. She is the fifth child in the family. Her father name is Cham Mean and he is 38 years old, her mother name is Veath Nara and she is 36 years old. They are farmers. Her family has own farmland one hectare for growing rice. The rice can produce 10 bags of rice in per year. They are selling for 5bages and got $150 to pay back to shop owner for the fertilizers and keep 5 bags for daily eating. The income is not enough so her father find a more job to work as a construction worker to build neighbors’ houses with other construction workers and he could benefit from $70 per month. Although her father got little income but that amount was inadequate to solve daily need of her family.
She is study hard and she always gets a good number in class. After school she helps her mother do housework and in her free time she likes to read the English book.
In the futures, She wants to be an English Teacher because the English languae is very important for staffs with the foreigner and she wants to help all the kids in her village know about the English language and it is easy for them when they are looking a job. Moreover, she wants to earn money to support her family.
