The Eugene Katz School
Mr. Chet San is the 57-year-old principal of the Eugene Katz School . He has seven children; all of them attend the high school. His grandson is learning at this new school. His wife is a farmer in the village.
“Before I became a teacher, I went to the teacher training centre for six months in 1979. After the teachers’ school, I was assigned to teach at a primary school in this village and worked there until1985, and then I was promoted to be chief of Carpenter Warehouse of the provincial Department of Education of Svay Rieng. I worked there ten years from 1985 to 1995,” Mr. Chet San said.
“In 1995, I was sent to teach children in a primary school and was promoted to be a deputy director. In 2004, I was promoted to principal of the Eugene Katz School when the new school was completely built,” he added.
“As the school principal, I focus on school discipline by keeping my staff, teachers and students on time, as well as updating teaching methods by sending our staff to train at the training center in provincial town sponsored by the Ministry of Education and other NGOs,” Mr. Chet San said.
