Mrs. Ouk Sophal is a 49-year-old villager who lives in front of the school. She has one thirteen year-old son who is learning at the Eugene Katz School .
“My husband and I are farmers and we also sell the palm juice in the dry season. We do rice farm only one crop a year from June to October every year,” she said.
“We are living for ages by doing cultivation in this village and we do not want our children to follow our footsteps by doing farming. Therefore my husband and I try our best to support our children to finish their studies and go to higher education as much as we can,” she said.
