Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Chheam Hin is a 16-years-old. She is a student in Grade 10th at The Naohiro Nishiya School in O’Pork Samky village, Meanreth commune, Sondan district, Kompong Thom province.

She has seven siblings, six sisters and one brother, and she is sixth child in the family. Her parents work as cassava harvester. Their income from this job is not regular because it is according to market price and cassava harvest seasons. Plus, their workplace is not fixed because they have to move from one farm to another farm where labor force is needed. Her family always hired to clear pastures for planation at the farm can earn about 20000 riels a day, but it is not a regularly income.

Hin has to respond to do housework because her parents and her older sibling are busy to work outside in a whole day.

In the future she wants to be a Policewoman, because policewomen is her dream which is also a great work to give a security of her community and anyway she can also relieve some difficulties for her family and ensure better quality of her life.
