Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Krav Sary is 12 years old and she is in grade 5 at Masako Sato School in Putreng village, Dakdam commune, Orang district, Mondukiri province.

Krav Sary was born in a poor family with seven members in her family, her parents, two brothers and three sisters including her. She is the third child in the family. Her order brother go to work as a construction staff and get 7$ in per day in Thailand, her brother always send the money for 100$ to his parents to support and buy the foods. Her sister studies in grade 3 at the seam her school. Her parents are farmers. They had own farmland for grow rice, which can produce 800kg to 1000kg of rice per year. Beside this her mother works as a day laborer and sometimes she hired to do planting and harvesting rice, pepper, and cassava to get extra income which is 5$ per day. However, the income isn’t enough to support the family. Sometime they don’t have money to buy school supplies of their children.

She is a good student in class and she always gets a good number. Sometime she helps to explain her classmate about the lesson and after school, Krav Sary has to look after her young sister and help her mother to do house work after class.

Krav Sary is an intelligent student in her class and she wants to be an English teacher when she grows up because she loves it and she really wants to give education to students in remote areas.
