Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Phall Chantrea, 15 years old, she is in grade 8 at Pluk Secondary School, Pluk Commune, Sesan District, Stung Treng province.

Chantrea is the seventh child in the family with the other 12 siblings. She is a mother left orphan, her father’s name Ly Sophal is a farmer. They have their own farmland about 0.5 hectare in where they can produce rice 1,780 kg during a year to support the big family. Besides working for the rice field, he has to find other labor work out of the village for 6 – 8 weeks and earn about $380 per year. Moreover, the rest of the times, they are growing vegetable to sell or exchange for daily food. Not even all income are enough to support the family and the study of his children. He admired to the donor for supporting his daughter to continue to study; even the help cannot change their living but at least can help them reduce the payment of each month.

She wants to be a police to help protect her family and villagers. She promised to come school and study hard.
