Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Peang Rath is 16 years old, a student in grade 9 at The Kimino Yume Mezaseba Kanau School #501, donated by Hajime Nishiya, 2009. It is in Romduol village, Varin commune, Varin district and Siem Reap province.

There are night members in her family, two parents, three daughters and four sons. Rath is the sixth child in the family. Her parents are farmers, owning two hectare of farmland. The family is able to collect 1.5 tons of the farming season is over. And sometime her parents sale wood charcoal to dealers they got money 250,000 riels per month. Her parents have two cows, two pigs and ten chickens. Rath is a very hard worker and a good student. On the free time she like read the book, clean her house and help her parents in the rice field.

In the future, she wants to be a Khmer teacher in her village. She wants to share her knowledge and teach children in her commune. She hopes she can do it very good. She would like to be able to support her family.
