Krien Keak
Krien Keak is 10 years old, a student in 3rd grade at The Ascham School Community, located in Poutaing village, Romney commune, Senmonorom district, Mondulkiri province.
There are six members in her family, two parents and two daughters and two brothers. She is the second child in her family. Her family is poor and owns one hectar of farmland where they can grow cashew that give them yield of 400 kg of cashew nut per year. Her mother and father work as farmers on their own farmland. They do not have other work to do because every day it is very busy in taking care their cashew trees as their children are small cannot help much with the farm work. All their income in year are very small and could not support all their children studies. Keak has to walk to school because her mother or father uses the bicycle to go to work. Furthermore, after a full day and walk back and ford to school, Keak has to help her mother with housework and various chores.
Krien Keak wants to be a doctor when she grows up. She wants to help people in her village, and she thinks that the hospital right now is too far from her commune. Moreover, she wants to earn money to support her family.
