Aun Leng Oeu
Aun Leng Oeu is a 13-year-old 6th grade student at Grace, Hope, Beloved School, which is located in Boeng Veng village, Tangkrasamng commune, Batheay district, and Kampong Cham province.,
Leng Oeu was born in a poor family with six members including her parents, one brother and three sisters including her. She is the first born. Every day, she rides her old bike about 2 kilometers from home to school. Lengoreu said, her parents have owned 2 hectares of farmland to produce rice and they also have collected 1,900kg for the annual rice’s transplantation.
Leng Oeu said that during her parents had been transplanting the rice they didn’t have enough money to purchase any of fertilizers to sow and instill in the rice paddy so that they must owed the cost of fertilizers from local shop’s owner and they promised to recompense to the shop’s own after the harvesting season.
Although her parents could gather 1,900kg of rice for yearly but the amount of that rice’s fruition wasn’t sufficiently affordable for the whole’s family’s needs, therefore, after the harvesting season, her father always found another to do as a construction worker to get little revenue for support the family. As for her mother, sometimes she had to leave home for the rice field in order to catch fishes, crabs and snails for making food and for selling too.
For Leng Oeu’s future goal, she wants be a teacher at Grace, Hope, Beloved School because she wants to share her knowledge to children in her village.
