Neath Douy
Neath Douy is 9 years old, a student in 3rd grade at The Ascham School community, in Poutaing village, Romney commune, Senmonorom district, Mondulkiri province.
There are five members in the family. Neath Douy has one brother, two sisters, and he is the second child in the family. Her dad works as a construction worker and some time he does as a guide in the village, earning $10 a day. Douy’s mother is a housewife, staying home and looking after her three children. The family is every poor and has one hectare of farmland of their own. Douy does not have enough money to buy school supplies for her studies. However, that does not stop her from coming to school and working her hardest.
Douy wants to be a teacher because she wants to share knowledge and education to the students in her community as well as be able to help financially support her family.
