Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Chann Mouy Kea is 12 years ole and student in fourth grade at the Takatsu Espoir School in six grade in Takhong village Trean commune Kampong Siem district Kampong Cham province.

Mouy Kea has 6 sisters and a brother. Her parents are a farmer who own 0.2 hectares for farmland for transplanting rice. Mouy Kea narrated that their farmlands are located furthest from the water resource, which increasingly difficult to get water to supply their farmland so their farmland depends on natural raining only.

According to the about reasons so her parents can gather 6 sacks of rice’s production and quantity of one sack of rice is about75-80 kilogram.

After gathering rice is completely finished her mother has a small business at home and she is a seller, can profit 1 dollar to 1.5 dollars per day. And she has ill so she spends money to buy medicine to assist herself.

In free time, Mouy Kea likes reading book, do exercise, do housework and take care her sister. She helps to teach her sister at home. In the future, she wants to be a good teacher because she loves teaching young children and she wants to earn more money to support her family.
