Chern Kimlang is a 13 years old girl in grade 6 at The Vasaskolan School in Angbaksey village, Cheang Torng commune, Tramkak district Takeo province.
Kimlang has two sisters and she is the first child in the family. Her parents died since she was a baby. She and her sisters are living with her grandparents. Her grandparents are farmers, they grow paddy rice and potatoes on a small plot of land to make their living but the yearly harvest is not enough to cover their needs. After the harvest season, her grandfather works as a worker. He can earn about $5 per day. It is not a regular work. The income is still not enough to support the family because they need to buy food, school outfits, clothes and other daily items.
