Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Nget Dyna is 14 years old and she is a student in grade 8 at the Pluk secondary School in in Kat Pluk village, Prekel commune, Kongpong Speu Province.

There are five members in her family, parents and three sisters and she is a second child.  Her father’s name is Keo Sokai, 38 years old. Her mother’s name is Chea Sokai, 36 years old. They are farmers and family is so poor. They can produce 800kg of rice per year. They are growing a few vegetables for family. Every day, their families are very hard to live and they are trying to earn money for supporting their children to school. For rice product in year is not enough to eat during the year. They would like to express gratitude to the organization and sponsors of the scholarship of her daughter, even though it is not sufficiently supportive of the family’s needs, but also reduces her family’s expenses. Nget Dyna promised to come to school regularly and the money that she received from her donor will keep for buying the school supplies.

Nget Dyna is a good student in class and sometime, she explain the lesson to her classmates when they are not understand and after school she always help her mother to do housework and look after her brothers.

In the future Nget Dyna wants to be a mathematics teacher in her village because she thinks that the teachers have been able to support a lot of social work, especially human resources training and she would like to support her family to live in a better life.
