Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Phan Chanda is 14 years old, student in 9th grade at the Svay Chek Secondary School in Anlong Spean village Svay Chek commune Romdoul district Svay Rieng province.

Chanda has one brother and one Sister. Her parents are divorced she lives with her mother and grandparents. Her grandparents are farmers who own 5,000 m2 of farmland where they can produce rice during a rainy season. Her grandparents can gather 15 sacks of rice production a year. After gathering rice is completely finished her mother grows some vegetables around the house to sell for extra money to support the daily need of her family.

Chanda always helps to do her mother housework, homework and she is a smart student and tries hard to study in school.

In future, she wants to be teacher because she likes teaching young children and she loves this career and want to educate young children in her village to have high knowledge.
