Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

To Be Selected

Srey Bun is12 years old, and she is in grade 7 at The Doris Dillon School in Phnom Toch village, Sdach Kong Khang Tboung Commune, Ben Teay Meas District, Kampot province.

Bun has 2 siblings, and she is the first child in the family. Her father’ name Mr. Suon Deng (dead) mother’s name Mrs. Kel Vannary, both of them are farmers. The family owns haft hectare of farmland; they can earn up $200 a year in rice product. As this is not enough to support the family’s needs, Bun’s mother has to work out side or to look after for relative’s children, to earn $3 per day.  Even with this additional income, they still have not enough money to support the family daily life. So mostly, she skips school to stay home and help to take care for her siblings or help her parents at the rice field and other housework.

She wanted to be a police; she hope that she could help solving all the safety problems for her relatives and her community.
