Opening Ceremony of the Cobbitty School


School Donor Mr. Frank Surgener accompanied by local authorities while walking to the opening ceremony, on March 5, 2007.


Frank Surgener, in the middle of the platform, takes the stage to give a speech at the opening ceremony, attended by school children, teachers, villagers and local authorities. On the left Mr. Tim Savath, director of the provincial department of Education and on the right Mr. Bun Kong, deputy chief of Pich Chenda district and special representative of the Mondolkiri Governor.


Bruce Fitch reads a letter on behalf of the Cobbitty School and the school community in Australia, written by a 7-year-old girl student in the Cobbitty School in Australia. She wrote the letter for her twin school counterparts in Cambodia.


School Donor Mr. Frank Surgener cuts the first portion of the red ribbon to inaugurate the new school building he has funded. 


Bruce Fitch cuts the last portion of the red ribbon, while Mr. Frank Surgener supports him.


One of the group donors gives a package of school supplies to each student.
