The formal dedication ceremony of the Dove School is held on 30th March 2006 as the school donor and the local authorities sit on the platform. Mrs. Ariko Tamenaga takes the floor to give a speech in Japanese while her 12-year-old son Kiyomaru Tamenaga translates into English, then from English to the Khmer language by the Senior Program Officer, Mr. Neou Ty.
After the speech by the school donor and the local authorities, Deputy Governor Mr. Snar Prayuth presents a letter of thanks to the school donor for her effort and generosity to build a school for Cambodian children in his province.
In return, Mrs. Ariko Tamenaga gives the Dove School logo (a symbol of peace) that she made thousands of logo to distribute to the children and local villagers. After pinning the logo to their shirt, they pose for a souvenir picture. A traditional Tampoun ceremony by the school villagers, one of the eight main tribal people who live in the mountainous province of Ratanakiri, was celebrated after the formal ceremony. Ariko Tamenaga, her son and local authorities also joined the Tampoun ceremony by dipping a stick into the jar of wine.
Ta Thdoeur, a 62-year old elder Tampoun and a representative of the Tampoun community, sits next to the wine jar and praise for peace to the spirit of their ancestors at the start of their traditional ceremony.
