The Ann Morrison School

(November, 2001)

Mr. Seang Boeun is the secretary of the Ann Morrison School. He has been the secretary for three years, and also teaches.

In Their Own Word

On the new building: “I like the new building very much because this new building gives the children in the area a much better opportunity for education. From 1980 to 2000, we had an old building with no walls. During the rainy season, we could not hold class in the building. Now with the new building, the children can learn easily and it motivates tem to study hard.”

On his family: “My children used to go to this school, but they are now studying at the local secondary school

Oh teaching: “I love teaching very much. I want to instruct the children living in remote areas, and to give them better opportunities. I don’t like corruption, fighting and gambling because these and bad deeds and do not help the country succeed. I think that the students try hard, even when it if difficult, and I like this.

On improving the school: “We have put in climbing ropes and a volleyball court to give the students other things to do”

Message for the donor: “I would like to thank Don Morrison very much for supporting the new school building for the kids in this village to learn. I wish the donor good health and longevity.
