The Hiroko Okuma School

Chek Chon is 60 years old.  He has one granddaughter studying at
the Hiroko Okuma School.  (August, 2001)

Mr. Chek Chon is 60 years old. He is a farmer living in Ba Krong village. He has two children and they have already married. He has one granddaughter who is studying at the school. He has a small rice field andabout 20 palm trees that yield about 700 kg of sugar a year.  Ba Krong is a palm sugar producing village.

On the new building: “I am happy to have my granddaughter study at this school because it is very near to my house.”

On how the building has changed the village: “The donor gave money to build a school for our children.  Before, it was the duty of the entire village to raise money from each family to build a school.  Now we can keep this money and use it to improve something else in the village.”

Message for donor: “I would like to thank the Hiroko Okuma for building this school for our children and wish her happiness and prosperity.”
