In Their Own Words. . .
On the new building: | “When I saw the new building I was very happy because it has large rooms for studying. The old building was much more difficult to teach in because it had small rooms and the roof leaked so the students did not like to come to school.
On teaching: | “When I was a student I wanted to be a teacher, so I applied for this job after finishing high school. I love teaching.”
On school subjects: | “I like teaching mathematics and Khmer because these are important subjects and I was good at them myself as a student. I don’t like teaching social science and applied science because they are difficult to teach and require study instruments, which we don’t have.”
On the community: | “The school community also likes this building and they want to take good care of it for future students.”
Message to the Nippon Foundation: | ‘I thank the Nippon Foundation very much because I never thought I could teach in a new building like this.” |
