(August, 2001)

Mrs. Kay Chem is a farmer living near the Sala Krao Nippon Foundation School. She has two daughters and two granddaughters studying at the school.
She is 48 years old and lives 100 m from the new building.

In Their Own Words. . .

On her family: “I am a crop farmer.  I have two daughters and two granddaughters studying at this school.  My older daughter is 14 years old and in fifth grade.  My other daughter is nine years old and in first grade. My twin granddaughters are in first grade at the new school building, too.  My husband’s name is Vour Beurn. He is a nurse working for the District Department of Health.  We just moved here in 1996.”

On the new building: “I think this new school building has improved this village because it can help our children.  I thank the Nippon Foundation who provided this school for my descendants very much.”
