Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Kea Srey Leap

Kea Srey Leap is 13 years old students in the 5th grade at The Kirivorn School#90, which is located in Kirivorn village, Steung Chhay commune, Kampong Sela district and Preah Sihanouk province.

There are six members in Srey Leap family such as parents, a son and three daughters including Srey Leap who is the youngest daughter in the family. Srey Leap’s father is a logger who frequently goes into the forest to cut down small trees to make knives’ handles, hoes’ handles, spades’ handles, and for many things.  He gets about $4 per day.

Srey Leap’s mother is a housewife. She takes care of her house and her children and she also raises a few hens at home about three to four months later so she can sells them out to get from $30 to $40 in order to support the family. Srey Leap’s parents haven’t owned any farmland for growing rice.

In the future goal, Srey Leap wants to be an English interpreter because she loves this occupation, and she thinks that she will get money from this job for her life as well.
