Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Ra Phkayproek is 15 years old, a student in 7th grade at The Kimino Yume Mezaseba Kanau School #501, donated by Hajime Nishiya 2009, located in Romduol village, Varin commune, Varin district, Siem Reap province.

Phkayproek has three siblings, they are all girls. She is third child in her family. Her father passed away and she is living with her mother. Her mother is a housewife and take care grandchildren of her elder sister who is working as a construction worker in Siem Reap City. Her family has no farmland. Every year, her mother has to buy rice at least 500 kg to support the daily life. Since her father passed away from them the family life goes into a very difficult living situation. On the free time she likes to read the story books and helps her villager for labor works, she can get 15,000 riels per day for study and other story books or English books.

In the future, Phkayproek wants to be mathematics teacher so can share her knowledge to children in her village and communities and she wants to help her mother when her mother is getting old.
