Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

Chem Bora is 13-year-old studend in the 6th grade at the Cambodia Hope School in Melum village, Melum commune, Baribour district, Kampong Chhnang province.

Bora has two sisters, two brothers, and is the fourth child in the family. Bora’s father’s name is Thep Pech and her mother’s name is Preab Peou and they are farmers. The family can produces 3,000 kg, and can make income for amount 1,300,000 riels a year. This year, after the rice season, Bora’s father had to sell their buffalo’s for 1,500$ each to support his family’s needs for one year. Even they get the income but it still not enough money to cover their expense in a whole year. Sometime

Bora is a good student and daughter. She studies hard in class, and when she is not studying, she is helping her mother with housework.

In the future, she wants to become a teacher. She wants to share her knowledge and teach the children in her commune. Moreover, she wants to earn money to support her family.
