Girls Be Ambitious

A program that enables girls who are unable to go to school due conditions of poverty to attend one of our rural schools and receive an education instead of having to work in the fields, do chores at home or take care of siblings.

To Be Selected

Sokchea is 15 years old and she is a student in Grade 7 at the Romdos Sre’s School in Romdos Sre commune, Choam Ksan district, Preah Vihear province.

There are 5 members in her family including her parents. Sokchea has one younger sister and one brother. Her father’s name is Choch and her mother’s name is Thea and they are farmers. Sokchea’s family has owns farmland, s about a half hectare in which they can produce 600kg of rice in per year for keep of daily eating in a whole year. This small amount of rice cannot sustain the whole family for long time, so Sokchea’s father works goes to work as a construction worker, earning $5 a day, in efforts to support the family.  As Sokchea is the eldest child in the family, she is responsible to help her mother to do house work and picking rice in their fields.

In the future, she wants to be an Auditor because she wants to find the mistake of financing in the companies and she wants to develop the company in Cambodia to get more profile. Moreover, she wants to help her family to live in a better life and support her sister to study util finish bachelor degree.
